The Regional Council operates a "listserv" (an e-mail list) through which it sends out announcements about local alumni events and Guilford news particularly relevant to people in the DC metropolitan area. To sign up to receive these messages, send a message to dcalumni@guilford.edu (we chose to have alumni opt-in, rather than opt-out, so you must tell us if you want to be on the list).

The Regional Council also plans and coordinates local alumni activities. During the past few years we have organized a wide variety of events, including our annual "welcome recent graduates" brunch, trips to Orioles, Nationals, and DC United games, an Anacostia river cleanup, viewings of Shakespeare in the Park, a tour of the Botanic Gardens, a tour of the Old Executive Office Building, bowling nights, and regular happy hours.

The Regional Council also works to help alumni with career networking and locating temporary or permanent housing. In DC, finding jobs and housing can be as much about who you know as what you know, so we provide an opportunity for Guilford alumni to help others

How can you get involved?

Show up at events! We are also always looking for people who are willing to dcalumni@guilford.edu.
